Screenplays, Songs, Articles & Poetry

Creative Writing

Every morning begins with a ritual: coffee, a cold shower, and three pages of stream-of-consciousness writing. From there, the words move into screenplays, songs, poetry, articles and books. For more than 20 years, writing has remained a daily creative practice — a way of exploring questions I have internally.

Introspective and philosophical by nature, I see writing as both discipline and discovery — transforming thoughts, experiences and observations into stories that resonate across screen, literature and music.

TIME WOULD TELL

Waiting in line to see what’s true.

Pushing up a hill to see a sunrise.

What would be that ultimate prize?

Show me, give me that mud of surprise.

Anxious blood of rivers moving through souls.

For floods could spread with nervous states.

And light refractions may shine through leaves late.

Moments don’t want the grey to stay; others tend to pray.

Feed me the hay of the day. Don’t stay, I say.

Thunder aroused by seas, lightning screamed at wiry rabbits.

Science was making its own matter.

New matter, no tatter, its own matter of factuals.

For the time of the future was here to tell.

For the time of the moment would be, to be.

For time is not time if you are not in time.

Time would tell.

RAISE THE PENNY

Raising a penny to hopefully find many.

Nothing in pockets or socks of joy.

Searching streets for park rats and bats.

For the path is unclear through the dream of night.

I see you with many a penny.

You hand over a piece of silver for many.

Something to be returned.

Something to be given.

Many still digging for gold near the mines.

For the search is to find what is right for many.

Give me an object for a service.

For something I don’t want from so many.

For many grew upon trees one day.

But is this really how I want my tree to grow?

Give me a penny, raise many, many,

and I will tell you a story — a story of milk and honey.
