Founded in 2014, ROOH (Roo Out Of Hat) Productions is the independent creative studio of filmmaker, writer, and producer James Vegter — a development and production platform dedicated to original intellectual property across film, television, book publishing, and music.

Through ROOH, James develops, writes, produces, and directs cinematic and literary projects that combine cultural depth, cross-border collaboration, and artistic innovation. The studio operates as the creative engine behind his feature film development, publishing ventures, music composition, and research-driven storytelling.

Over the past decade, ROOH Productions has developed a diverse body of work, including screenplays, feature film concepts, documentaries, poetry, songs, historical research, children's books, educational publications, and long-form literary projects — building story worlds that move fluidly between screen, page, and sound.
